What is a Community Ambassador?

Generations Together Community Ambassadors are student leaders who bring our mission into their own schools and communities. Ambassadors recruit young people to serve, organize approved Generations Together projects and campaigns, introduce our opportunities to clubs and community groups, and help us reach older adults through the organizations already serving them.

You’ll have the freedom to lead locally while receiving projects, resources, guidance, and support from the Generations Together team.

Bring Projects to Your Community

Choose from approved Generations Together volunteer projects and campaigns and organize them through your school, club, neighborhood, youth organization, or community.
Mobilize Other Young People

Introduce students to Generations Together, share current volunteer opportunities, recruit participants for projects, and help turn individual interest into collective action.
Lead Local Service

Coordinate project logistics, communicate instructions, encourage participation, and help your group complete projects successfully.

Build Community Connections

Help identify senior-serving organizations, schools, clubs, and community groups in your area that may be interested in Generations Together. Our team handles formal partnership approval and organizational agreements.
Represent Generations Together

Share our mission at appropriate school or community events, club meetings, service fairs, or presentations using approved materials.
Document Your Impact

Take appropriate photos when permission allows, record participation and project outcomes, collect reflections, and send us a short report after each initiative so your community’s work can become part of the Generations Together Archive.
Share Your Perspective

Leadership that involves actual responsibility, community organizing, project management skills,
public speaking and outreach capabilities, a record of what you built, and a national community. That's what you gain.

The volunteers you recruit can become long-term members of Generations Together. The project you introduce may become an annual tradition at your school. The organization you connect with could become one of our future partners.
