Generations Together offers meaningful volunteer opportunities that support seniors through connection, care, and community service. Volunteers can contribute in a variety of ways — from in-person outreach to creative and organizational support — depending on interest, availability, and current needs.

❋ Documenting community voices and stories

We are seeking multiple volunteers to help collect, preserve, and share seniors’ stories.

  • Visiting senior homes or participating in phone or video calls with seniors

  • Conducting respectful, guided interviews

  • Recording conversations (with consent)

  • Transcribing and summarizing stories to help better understand seniors’ experiences and perspectives

Volunteers in this role must be thoughtful listeners and committed to representing seniors’ voices with care and respect.
Must be 12+.

❋ Website & Communications
Support

We are seeking volunteers to help maintain and update our website as new projects and community events are launched.

  • Updating pages related to community events and projects

  • Helping ensure information on the website is current and accurate

  • Assisting with written updates as needed

This role is best suited for volunteers who are detail-oriented and comfortable working with written content.

❋ Project Review & Coordination Support

Volunteers in this role help ensure our projects run smoothly and meet organizational standards.

  • Reviewing volunteer submissions for quality and appropriateness

  • Responding to volunteer inquiries under guidance

  • Assisting with planning and organizing community projects

This role requires reliability, clear communication, and attention to detail.

❋ Event support

We are seeking volunteers to help carry out community events and outreach activities as they occur.

  • Assisting with event setup and organization

  • Helping distribute materials or care packages

  • Supporting event logistics during scheduled activities

Availability may vary depending on the timing and nature of events.
There is no application process for this. Nevertheless, to document your presence, you must email us if interested. 

❋Creative & Care Package Contributions

This role is open to volunteers who prefer to contribute from home.

  • Creating handmade items such as cards, artwork, bookmarks, or crocheted pieces

  • Mailing or submitting completed items for use in senior care packages or projects

No application is needed. All submissions are reviewed before distribution to ensure they are appropriate and respectful. When sending in submissions, please formally send photos to our email, even if they are submitted through mail or in person. This way, we can document your volunteer hours and confirm them if needed; otherwise, we wouldn’t know who made what.

Volunteer roles highlighted in yellow or in bold require an application and brief interview to ensure volunteers are prepared and well-matched to their responsibilities.

Interviews are not meant to be intimidating — they help us understand interests, availability, and ensure a positive experience for both volunteers and senior participants.
