Before you volunteer

Good to
know.

From getting your hours verified to volunteering with friends, here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often.

Still have a question?

We're happy to help with anything not covered here.

Email our team
01 / How do I get my volunteer hours verified?

After each volunteer opportunity, we'll email participants a certificate documenting their completed service hours. If you need a signature on a school-specific form or haven't received your certificate, email us at info@generationstogether.us , and we'll help you out!

02 / Is there a minimum age to volunteer?

We welcome volunteers of different ages! Some opportunities have age restrictions or require parent or guardian permission, depending on the activity and partner organization. Check the event details before signing up.

03 / Do I need any previous volunteer experience?

Not at all! Most of our opportunities are beginner-friendly, and you'll receive any necessary instructions before participating. All you need is a willingness to help.

04 / Do I have to commit to volunteering regularly?

No! We offer both one-time events and recurring opportunities, so you can participate as often as your schedule allows. If you're interested in building a longer-term commitment, there are opportunities for that too.

05 / Can I volunteer with friends or through my school club?

Absolutely! We love working with school clubs, student organizations, and groups of friends. If you're hoping to bring a larger group or organize a project together, reach out to us at info@generationstogether.us so we can coordinate.

06 / What if I sign up but can no longer attend?

We understand that plans change! Just let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust our volunteer arrangements and give someone else the opportunity to participate.
